Total Recorded Hits:  19 V1 Flying Bomb impacts.

 

Fatalities:  74  lives lost.

 

Property Damage: Over 70 homes were completely demolished, and upwards of 400 surrounding properties suffered severe blast or fire damage.

June 18, 1944 – Nightingale Lane (12 Fatalities)The first documented V1 impact in SW12 hit Nightingale Lane at the corner of Hendrick Avenue at 05:15 AM. The flying bomb demolished a three-story building serving as a nurses' home for the Jewish Home of Rest. The direct hit killed 12 people,.

 

June 19, 1944 – Gaskarth Road (13 Fatalities)The night of June 19 brought severe destruction to Gaskarth Road when a V1 struck at 22:40 PM near the junction with Westland Terrace. The force of the explosion completely demolished 10 houses and damaged 20 others. A total of 13 people were killed, making it the highest casualty event of any single incident in the SW12 log
