I was inspired to undertake this project starting in 2003 because my parents used to tell me stories about their experiences during the V1 and V2 attacks on London. My mother lived in Beckenham and my father in Dulwich so they were very much at the eye of the storm. I lived in South London most of my life, so that was the area I chose to study in detail . Latterly I have relocated to East Sussex, and coincidentally, on the golf course behind my house there is a memorial to Canadian Soldiers killed by a V1 in 1944.
