The London SE5 area, Camberwell, was struck by 15 V-1s and 2 V-2s, causing major damage to the district. A total of 86 people were killed as a result, with numerous others injured.

The worst incident in SE5 occurred on the 28th of June 1944, when 19 people were killed after a block of flats, Bentley House, was hit on the corner of Peckham Road and St. Giles Road. There was a further serious attack on the 17th of December when a V-2 hit Bagshot Street, killing 17. The area that today forms Burgess Park was hit by three V-1s and the Bagshot Street V-2, causing extensive damage.
