The Peckham and Nunhead areas were heavily damaged. 29 V1Flying bombs and 3 V2 Rockets devastated many parts of thedistrict. As a result 161 people were killed and many more badlyinjured.

Twenty-five years ago, driven by a desire to understand how these weapons shaped modern London, I embarked on a deep-dive research project. After hundreds of hours of investigation, I published my findings here. The V1 Flying Bomb and V2 Rocket represent a pivotal chapter in London’s history, and I am pleased to share this research with fellow history enthusiasts.
