| V1 and V2 Statistics : Totals by Week |
| I have 23 V1 and V2 incidents that I am unable to ascertain the date for. This is partly due to the fact that the Fire Brigade reports are missing for the period September to December. . |
| Of note is the very high incidence of Flying bombs and fatalities for the 3 weeks from the 18th June which was the worst period of the attacks. At this stage defences had not been refined and many of the missiles launched were getting through. Note also the sudden reduction in bombs week commencing 9th July which was due to the allied bombing of the V1 depots the previous week The rate increased again the following week. . After that the incidents drop off as allied defences became more effective. . The V2 incidents were of a much lower magnitude but were maintained at a steady rate from October until the end of March 1945. Note the high casualty rate per incident after the commencement of the V2 Rocket attacks in September 1944 |
